I am the Administrator of Lil Rascals Preschool. I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, ages 21 and 24. I also have a son-in-law whom I love dearly. My husband and I have owned our own construction – subcontracting business (Tidewater Caulking and Waterproofing, LLC) for over 20 years. However, it has always been my passion to teach children about the love of God. My journey began about 15 years ago when I was asked to teach Sunday school to preschoolers at our church, I accepted and have been teaching there for over 15 years. I enjoyed teaching at church so much I decided to pursue a career in teaching children and became a preschool teacher. I have over 10 years of experience as a preschool teacher. I feel teaching children is one of the most important things we are called to do. During my years of teaching under other administrations I have been a part of systems that worked and systems that, unfortunately did not work, and because of that it has driven me to work hard and strive to make a difference in the lives of children. It has always been my dream to own and operate my own preschool and with much prayer and tremendous support from family and friends we have been blessed with Lil Rascals Preschool and Daycare. My work here at Lil Rascals has not only fulfilled my passion but has Blessed me beyond my dreams. I am surrounded by the presence of laughter and love of all these children on a daily basis, and for that reason I am BLESSED!!!
Office Assistant
I am a follower of Jesus, mother of two fabulous sons, mother-in-law to an amazing daughter-in-law and Gigi to the most adorable little boy in the world. It is said that they save the best for last and boy is that ever true!! My little grandson is my sunshine!! I am thankful for my good health and an opportunity to return to Lil’ Rascals in a part-time capacity. I love working with the excellent staff and teachers and interacting with the precious children each day! Each day is a gift from God. Live it to its fullest!
2 Year Old Lead Teacher
I am the 2 year Old Lead Teacher here at Lil Rascals. I absolutely feel that the 2 year old classroom is where I need to be, I love their smiling faces and the funny things they say. They are like little sponges at this age and I love to watch them get excited when they learn something new. This year marks my third year here at Lil Rascals Preschool. I also love working with preschool and early elementary age children at my church, as well as assisting with vacation bible school. I am currently working to earn my Associates degree in Social Sciences at Tidewater Community College and hope to transfer to ODU or Liberty University to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. In March 2016 I began my life as a married woman when I married my high school sweetheart, Cody.
2 year Old Teacher Assistant
Hello, my name is Linda Carney. I am the 2 year Old Teacher Assistant here at Lil’ Rascals Preschool & Daycare. I also work with school age children in the afternoon. I have a daughter Whittney who is 22 years old. I love children and love teaching the word of God.
3 Year Old Lead Teacher
My name is Tessa Church and I have been working here at Lil’ Rascals for three years. I am currently going to school in pursuit of my bachelors degree in Social Work. I will be teaching S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). It is very rewarding to be apart of the children’s lives, help them grow as individuals and watch them succeed in school. My career goal is work with children/teens that are struggling with their self-image and dealing with various emotional needs. My desire is to make a difference in the life of a child, one child at a time.
4 year old Lead Teacher
Hello, my name is Becky Myers and I have been working with preschoolers for over 22 years. I am the K4 teacher and enjoy every aspect of teaching and have realized that the children can teach us just as much as we teach them.
I am now here at Lil’ Rascals and I believe that this center is a wonderful place for your child to begin their education academically, socially, emotionally, an spiritually. We are a team and have incredible passion for each child. God is definitely doing great things here at Lil’ Rascals.
